Page title formatting

  • Hi, on settings/reading/ I have under “Your homepage displays” Posts Page = Blog.

The title of this page does not appear, how can I have it shown?

Also, I would like to add a design element to the title showing up something like this – https://app.screencast.com/oBvTf25lHZZ40 (where SEO posts is the title)

I’d like to be able to have this shown on all pages but not posts.
    Possible?
    Thanks

  • Hi there,

you can use a Block Element Page Hero – see here:

    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/

For the Blog Page you would create its own separate hero and manually add the H1 Title you want.

For ALL other pages you can create one hero with a dynamic Title.

  • Thanks David I checked out that video and it was really complex, a lot more than what I need to do. Do you have any other guides on how to do this without embedding an image and all those other elements? I just need a simple backround color with the H1 title.

  • Blog page does not have a title by default, if you want to add it, you will have to use a block element – page hero, or a hook element with HTML.

It’s very simple to do, if you don’t want to add an image it’s fine, you just need to add a heading block with text BLOG, and set the element type to page hero, set the location to blog.
