Pop-up post

  • Hi,

Can I make the size of a post smaller so that when I click on it, it looks like a pop-up?

For instance… it would be nice if I add the information of the post in a container and everything outside the container is transparent? Is it possible?

  • Hi Adriana,

What would the background be for the body if the “outside” container is transparent? Would it just be an image?

If not, and you’re planning to make a real “pop-up” with the Blog page as the background, a third-party plugin or a custom code would be needed for this.

  • Hi Fernando,

By any chance, do you have an example of how to do it? Or what kind of custom code should I use? where can I learn it?

    Thank you

  • The code for that would be a bit complicated. I don’t think it’s advisable to do that as well as it could highly be detrimental to a site’s performance, especially if a site has numerous posts. Something like AJAX loading may be needed: https://wpmudev.com/blog/load-posts-ajax/

It’s only usually done for images – this is called “Lightbox”.

I would suggest asking for recommendations on our Facebook Group as well: https://web.facebook.com/groups/generatepress

What I would personally suggest is to just have a static background for better site-performance results.

  • Thanks for the advice, Fernando. Have a nice day.

  • You’re welcome, Adriana!
