Query Loop Block – parameters

  • Hi

I have the query loop in an elements template for blog archives. In the template I have a Categories List dropdown block to select the category. I need 6 posts per page in 3 columns.

If I set the query loop to “inherit form template”, the Categories List dropdown works and displays the selected category. However, there is now no way to set 6 posts per page.

If toggle off the inherit query from template, I can set to “posts” and “6 posts per page”, but I can no longer find a parameter setting that allows the Categories List select box to work.

There is no setting the in the Generatepress customiser for number of posts per page in the blog settings either.

What combination of setting do I need please to make this work.

    Thanks
    LenW

  • Hi there,

However, there is now no way to set 6 posts per page.

The posts per page is an option from WP. Go to dashboard > settings > reading, and set Blog pages show at most to 6.

  • Thanks, found it, works fine now.
Still interested as to why in the paramater settings there isn’t a parameter to grab the posts in the same way as inherit from template. Is there way to have both?

  • Is there way to have both?

    No, unfortunately.

Inherit from the template includs inheriting the posts per page setting from the template, and it is defined by WordPress.
