Query loop horizontal gap

  • Hi

I try to make horizontal gap wider in the grid of the the Query loop of my blog page. But the distance between the blocks doesn’t change. I deactivated the cache. Where can I look?

    Thanks, Peter

  • Hi there,

the URL you shared, the blog page isn’t using the Query Loop block, thats displaying the themes archive template.

How did you apply the Query Loop ?

  • Hi David

    Thanks!

I made a new page, then put the odl page to the trash and saved the new one under the old Blog name. If I now click edit page I go to the new page with the Query Loop. But apparently it shows the old blog page.

    Sorry. I made a mess.

  • The blog page is an index page, you can not edit it like a static page.

If you want to use a query loop block to display the posts on the blog, you need to create a block element – loop template, and assign it to blog (not pages > blog)

  • Oeps. Thanks. I am solving the wrong problem. I’ll check it out. Thanks.

  • You are welcome   🙂

  • Hi Ying

This works beautifully. I might have used WP Show Posts for this, but I am not sure.
With the elements and query loop it doesn’t show the tags? Why is that and how do I do that. The customizer refers to the loop template element. But I dont find a way to add the tags there.

    Best regards, Peter

  • If you edit the Query Loop block, expand the list view to see how its constructed. See here:

    https://app.screencast.com/qngASjNcUNggn

Inisde the Post Template block are several GB Blocks, each one has its Block setting > Dyanmic Data enabled with a Content Source selected.

Duplicate one of those blocks from the blocks toolbar menu.
And then set its Content Source to List of Terms. And select the relevant taxonomy eg. Categories.

NOTE: Loop Templates overwrite the Themes template and the Customizer options. Any changes you require will now be made in the Loop Template element using the block editor.

  • Thanks, David. Got it!

  • Glad to be of help!
