Query Loop: How to show bullet list in Post

  • Hi, I am creating a page where I have used container and query loop inside to pull in data (posts) as per categories. Now these posts needs to be styled through the bullet list.
Can you please guide how to create bullet list for the query loop post.

Also, inside the query loop, if I want to show the Post Title and Post Excerpt in the same line, like the Post Excerpt should start immediately after the Post Title in the same line (not starting from the new line).
Note: I have deleted published date here.

    Regards,

    Thanks in Advance.

  • Hi there,

Can you please guide how to create bullet list for the query loop post.

For that you can add a bullet icon for the heading inside the query loop. Select the heading and add an icon under the Icon settings. You can also adjust the size of the bullet icon accordingly.

So, regarding showing the post title and excerpt in the same line, do these posts have long excerpts?

  • Thanks for the quick reply. The bullet list through post title icon is working fine.

So, regarding showing the post title and excerpt in the same line, do these posts have long excerpts?

No, the excerpts is just 2-3 words. We have customized each post excerpt via post excerpt customizations. These excerts are generally date.

  • Okay you may try this:

Select the post title headline inside the query loop, and in the floating toolbar settings, click the ‘Add to Container’ option. This will wrap the post title block inside a container.

Next, add a new headline block inside this container. This will be for the excerpts. Then enable Dynamic Data and choose ‘Excerpt’ for the Content Source.

Finally, to make the title and excerpt appear on the same line, select the container that wraps both headings. Go to Layout and set the Display to Flex, Align Items to flex-start, and set the Column Gap to 20px.

Let me know how it goes.

  • Hi Alvid,

    Thanks for the guide.

Finally, to make the title and excerpt appear on the same line, select the container that wraps both headings. Go to Layout and set the Display to Flex, Align Items to flex-start, and set the Column Gap to 20px.

This is not working. It’s creating two columns which I don’t want. I want the second line to start after the first one.

For ref, pl check this website – https://sarkarijobfind.com/. On the homepage, pl refer to the “Top Online Form” section or “Other Online Form”. The table inside has the post title and date/excerpt start after the post title. Though this website may not have used generatepress/generateblock.

Can I achieve this with GP and GP block.
