Really bad CLS, FCP, LCP

  • Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) is 0,24 on mobile with GP Premium using AMP.
I don’t know how to make it better.
Even without ads, it remains identical.
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

  • I add the website in private info

  • Hi there,

The theme itself does not have any known CLS issue by default.

I just ran your site through the Lighthouse test using browser incognito mode and CLS is at 0 as well:
    https://www.screencast.com/t/DedohSPJSc

  • That’s true. In Lighthouse, CLS = 0 but in crUX the CLS = 0.24
And that the one important for Core Web Vitals
Any idea to correct that ?

  • Hi there,

Google gathers information from users’ browsers, and within the past 28 days, certain users’ data has shown some CLS issues.

The challenge with this data is that Google hasn’t collected sufficient CRUX data for individual posts, making it difficult to pinpoint where the CLS issue specifically exists.

Has this issue only recently become apparent?

  • It has been 4 weeks.
I don’t know how to correct it.

  • As you can see the CLS is 0 on page speed insight for the data captured today:
    https://app.screencast.com/ZxPiI4VBP8i71

It is the 28 days data showing 0.24 CLS:
    https://app.screencast.com/2pFRfTCE28FB2

As the current data is already 0, you will need to wait 28 days to see the result changes.

  • Thanks for your feedback.
On the new report, the website have now a FCP and a LCP problem.
How to correct it ? I would like to pass all the core vitals.

  • The main cause of the FCP and LCP is AMP. AMP adds JS and other souces to block the initial load of the page.

    https://app.screencast.com/WCHtzFjoJytuH

A site without images should not have FCP or LCP issues.

Can you disable AMP to test?

  • Is it possible to fix it with AMP ?

  • I don’t think so, and I don’t think AMP is good for performance anymore in modern browsers.

  • I remove AMP.
    Now I have a Total Blocking Time = 1 950 ms

  • Based on your site’s Pagespeed Reports:
    https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-credit0-fr/7datibdpuk?form_factor=mobile

Under Diagnostics, let’s focus on the top 3 main opportunities:

    Reduce JavaScript execution time
    Advert and tracking codes

    Minimize main-thread work
    Script Evaluation

Reduce the impact of third-party code
A huge amount of advert and tracking codes

These 3 issues are the major performance issue and all of them are related to the 3rd party scripts loading the adverts and related tracking codes on your site.

I am not sure how you manage your adverts but you need to defer the loading of their scripts to they do not interfere with your sites loading time.

Many plugins like PerfMatters or WP Rocket or FlyingScripts provide options to Defer and Delay loading Javascripts.

  • Thanks I install FlyingScripts and it is better.

Now my last problem is with Youtube video.
In the page with embeded video, FCP, LCP and Total Blocking time are very bad.
What is your recommandation (if possible without an other extension) ?

  • Youtube has huge amount of js, you need to defer them as well:

  • Thank you so much for your help. Cheers
