Recreate a specific carousel look

  • Hi all,

I am trying to recreate a specific look (see link below for a screenshot), basically an image in a carousel where it can continuously scroll. Underneath the carousel I would like to have the ability to input a title, body with text and tags so it can be filtered.

What would be a good way approach to build this?

  • Hi there,

Underneath the carousel I would like to have the ability to input a title, body with text and tags so it can be filtered.

What can be filtered? I don’t quite understand the question.

    Please explain some more.

  • I meant so the tags can be clicked which would filter the content

    For example the carousel displays
all vacations I’ve took. I click the image to view the details – in the details view I see the tag ‘2023’, I click that tag which then sorts all the entries for 2023 and displays them.

    Hope that makes sense.

Are the content in the carousel posts or CPTs?

If so, it will require plugins or custom development that can filter query loop posts, it’s not something that built-in in GB or GP, unfortunately.

  • What does CPTs stand for?

Also, if I do need to explore plugins any suggestions?

  • CPT means Custom Post Type, for example, Woocommerce’s product is a CPT called product, all post types (except Post and Pages) are all custom post types.

You might be able to add a search and filter function using these plugins:
    https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/search-filter/
    https://facetwp.com

But I’m not sure if the plugins can create the layout you want.
