Search results do not contain links

  • Hello

For some reason my search results page does not contain links. If I switch the theme to WordPress 2024 it returns results as expected, with a tiled grid linking to different posts etc. but switching back to GeneratePress returns a few lines of text that don’t link anywhere.

I’m completely stumped as to what’s happening. Deactivating plugins did not seem to make any difference.

Any tips on how I can troubleshoot and resolve this?

    Many thanks
    Matt

  • I’ve got this working by using a query in an element. I didn’t think that was required for the search results page, but maybe I’m mistaken.

  • Hi there,

unless there was another element remove the content/loop template of the search results then there should not be a requirement to have a search results element.

Check in the Admin Bar > Elements menu to see if there were any Content / Loop templates that may have been affecting it.

  • I will check that out. Many thanks!

  • You’re welcome
