Sticky Tabs Navbar

  • Hey there, I’m making my own navigation using GeneratePress Premium and GenerateBlocks Premium. Hereis the setup for how the blocks look like. I’ve been trying to make the navigation sticky for ages and it doesn’t work whatsoever. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Here is what the secondary navigation (the one I’m making) looks like.

  • Hi there,

Is your site live? If so, could you provide the link so we can take a look?

  • Hey! No my site isnt live for indexing purposes.

  • Unfortunately, I need to see the site to inspect the selector as that will require custom CSS to make it sticky.

  • Okay, I’ll make it public for a bit! No problem. The site is https://nootropichq.com!

  • Would you like both navigations to be sticky, or just the secondary one?

  • Just the secondary to be sticky, I know that the first one can be made sticky through the site customization. Thanks a bunch 🙂

  • Alright, if you want the primary header to be sticky as well, I believe the better approach is to follow David’s suggestion here:
    https://generate.support/topic/responsive-header/#post-104836

This will require your tabs navigation to be built using an Element, which I assume you’ve already done.

Let me know how it goes.

  • Alrighty, well now it looks like this. However, it’s still not sticky when I scroll down. I tried to add some CSS and that still didn’t work. What do you think? Thanks!

  • Have you already enabled the sticky navigation in the customizer?

  • Yes, I now enabled it and it works. However, the navigation I created is now right next to the primary navigation, but I want it to be under it. Also, the navigation I created adopted the font of the primary navigation and I’d like it to have its own font.

How do I solve these issues? Thanks a bunch!

  • Also, another quick question, why is it that I can set the padding for my container through the customizer for only desktop and mobile, but not for my macbook? Since the 20px padding I have from the left doesn’t apply

    nevermind: fixed!

  • Just to confirm, have you managed to fix everything?

  • No, the message above the previous one is still my issue.

  • Sorry, is it possible to see the site again? It’s currently in coming soon mode.
