Stretched vertical/portrait images

  • thewholeworldis

I’ve got a new issue with our site where portrait images are showing stretched or modified once the post is published.

I’ve posted a sample post in the private info below is someone could take a look

  • Hi there,

i am not noticing any stretched images, is it on any particular browser or device ?

Hi David, apologies as I rushed my comment. This is on mobile android (chrome)but I think it’s also happening on iOS too. The same image below is looking compressed horitnally on mobile in the post

  • The image’s width is set to 400px, and height is set to 600px, on mobile when the screen is narrower than 480px (400px + 40px padding + 40px padding), the image width will go as wide as it can, so in this case, height remains, but width is less than 400px.

I would recommend NOT to set a static height for the image, only set the width, the browser will automatically calculate the height based on the image’s aspect ratio.
