Center my blog content

  • Sorry another one – I’m trying to copy this YouTube video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBuQAwgbTMA&t=39s where his website looks like this.

I tried copying his settings specifically and yet his gray banner spans across his entire site and my green banner only goes part way πŸ™ why is there some space both on the left and right side? …so in summary:
    1) why do I have 2 images in my banner
    2) how can I create a shadow on the featured image
    3) how do I get my banner to span across the entire site like the example website

  • nice – I was able to get rid of the sidebars – THANK HYOU.

    Glad to hear that πŸ™‚

Do you mind open new topics and keeping one question per topic? This is the best and the most efficient way for us to help, and it will be much easier for other users who are looking for an answer to the same issue.

    Thanks for your understanding!

  • Hi Ying – got it I can open up new topics for other questions, including spanning the banner the whole way. But you can still see in my post that the blog content is not centered (which was my original question) despite getting rid of the sidebar – can you continue to help me with that?

  • Hi there,

in Appearance > Elements you have an Element titled: Test - Content Template
Edit that, select the Container Block the has your content block inside.
Go to the block settings Sizing, and remove the width value. It is currently set at 800px and you must remove that

  • Hi David, when I removed the 800 width in ‘Sizing’ it indeed spanned the content across the entire page. However, I like that the width is 800 but I just want the content centered (currently it is shifted to the left and it has gray spacing on the right side). How do I get it so it looks like this?

Basically centered with all white background and width is skinny (the 800 px is fine). Thank you so much

  • Hi Heathery,

Give it an 800px max-width. Then, add an auto left and right margin.

  • awesome this resolved it!

  • Glad that worked!
