For example:
.gb-button-2c254137 { font-family: inherit; font-weight: normal; padding: 10px 20px; background-color: var(--purple); color: var(--base-3); text-decoration: none; }
These generated styles always appear to override any new global style classes I create. I’ve tried these suggestions with the same results:
https://generate.support/topic/new-global-styles-module/#post-105283
Just passing this along… I may be missing a really obvious solution!

Hi there,
If you cleared the local styles, this CSS should not appear anymore.
Are you sure the local styles have been cleared?
If so, make sure all cache has also been cleared.

Hey, Ying. I did try those steps… But no luck so far. Here’s a pic of my inspector to show what’s happening:
It’s a CSS specificity thing for sure. I can’t seem to get GenerateBlocks to stop creating its own default styling.

Okay, I’m almost there… I found that I had used this method to sync my GB button with GeneratePress (my bad — I’m coming back to an older site):
https://docs.generateblocks.com/article/sync-gb-button-style-with-generatepress-theme/
So the “default” padding and font-weight are gone and my global style working correctly. But now the default link color is interfering with my button styles. This:
.inside-article a, .paging-navigation a, .comments-area a, .page-header a { color: var(--accent-2); }
Is overriding this:
.gpc-button { background-color: var(--bucci-purple); color: var(--base-3); // color is overridden by the above styles display: inline-flex; font-family: inherit; font-weight: bold; padding: 5px 45px; text-transform: uppercase; }
-
So remove the link color from customizer > colors > content, add the link color to customzier > colors > body instead.

Thank you, Ying! That did the trick! I appreciate you bearing with me.

No Problem 🙂
Glad to help!
