Hello, what is the correct way to insert the “Archive Cards” elements into a page (homepage) so that it is properly displayed?
-
Hi there,
Your homepage is a static page, you can add a query loop block directly in your homepage’s page editor.

Hi Ying,
Continuing from this thread: https://generate.support/topic/a-couple-of-questions/

Have you tried what I suggested?

I’m so far: https://imgur.com/a/iMVpgJ1
Not sure if I should be proceeding with blank or something with an existing title?
-
Just choose the one that looks closer to what you want to achieve, then modify it based on your design.

Oh, I have to recreate the Archive Card from scratch? Not really sure how to achieve that. There’s no way to just somehow link the existing Archive Card element?

Just to specify what I’m trying to achieve currently:
1. Recreate the current live landing page (info in private) as a separate page (named homepage). This is almost done as I just need the Archive Card part to properly display here, it’s injected but its not being displayed.
2. Create a blog page where it displays the latest articles in a 3×3 grid (same as when you look at separate categories right now)
3. Under Settings > Readings swap from “Your Latest Posts” to a static page, assign homepage to homepage and posts page to blog -
No, the archive card element is content template, it’s not using query loop block.
However, there is an easier way, you can copy the root container of the content template, then paste it into the post template container of the query loop block, and replace the dynamic image and dynamic content block with GB’s image block and headline block, as the dynamic image and dynamic content block are only supported in GP’s element.
For how to do this, check this video:https://app.screencast.com/LPOabWhWwR5kZ

Thanks for the video Ying, I think I have something up and it’s saved within the “homepage” page, although I’m not seeing anything come up on the live homepage itself right now. In theory I would need to force it come after the GetStartedHere – Hook element, is that possible?
-
1. Remove pages > homepage from the Archive Cards element’s location.
2. Go to settings > reading, and choose homepage as the homepage:https://app.screencast.com/wGaYxghssWr6d

Added link to staging in private where I did this change right now, it’s just showing the “Latest Article” heading. It’s a fresh copy so the recent shortcut is there too when in the editor.

To specify here I meant live page as in live page of the “homepage” page which is in private info, not the live landing page which you see when selecting the main domain without any / at the end
-
I’m confused, do you want the homepage to be your landing page?

I apologize for the trouble, it is a bit hard to explain it in text like this, let’s maybe try an easier route and just stick to creating a blog page without messing with any WP reading settings at all. Is it possible to somehow clone/copy the exact layout of what you can see when picking a category? I’ll add an image to private, categories have the exact layout I want, 3×3 grid with “1..2..3.. Next” enabled, but instead of posts from specific category I simply want it to start showing articles from the latest one.

You are already half way there, why not just take my suggestions from this reply?https://generate.support/topic/inserting-archive-card-element-to-a-page-homepage/#post-92104
