[video] Problem with Headers, Reverting Back to Font, etc

  • I have included the video in sensitive area. But can’t seem to go back to Helvetica on home page, actual article page, and now dealing with word wrap and gaps for header (h1, h2’s) on mobile, iPad, but desktop is fine.

Not sure why but my SimpleTOC+ plugin is not showing the table of contents since making these changes too. Related?

  • Ignore the SimpleTOC plugin as it was one article impacted and solved it.

  • Hi there,

Can you confirm that this topic has been resolved? I assume so based on your previous reply.

    Let me know 🙂

  • Actually, I don’t think so. Something is still going on. I need help with the settings. You may need to check mobile to see what is going on, including initial pages on desktop.

  • I added a second video for more examples. See private section.

  • Can you disable Ezoic first while doing the changes?

Then, I would also suggest switching to the Dynamic Typography system: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/switching-to-dynamic-typography/

Also see for more info: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/dynamic-typography-overview/

  • I don’t think disabling Ezoic is that easy as it would impact everything. I did select Dynamic switching but again, the fonts on the main home page are not larger.

Is it possible for someone to explain my questions in video 2 so I can tackle tomorrow?

  • It seems like a caching/optimization issue. It’s always best to make changes especially major ones on a Staging site first with all caching and optimization disabled. This is to assure you see the actual changes on the site – not yet cached or optimized.

With that said, we highly recommend starting a staging site, disabling Ezoic and any other caching/optimization plugins there, and making the changes before pushing/pulling the changes to your live WordPress site.

  • Hi Fernardo,

Would you be able to look at video #2 link and answer the points about the selection criteria, if possible.

  • Hi there,

can i see the actual site ?

  • Sure.

    Added to the private section.

  • OK, so that single H1 is getting its Font from the H1 font ie. Arimo, and its styles ( weight etc ) from the Single Content Title H1

If you want use a different font for the Single Content Title H1 you would need to enable Dynamic Typography:

    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/switching-to-dynamic-typography/

That gives you more control over each elements typography

  • Hi David,

I went into the section and got no option for this. Any ideas?

See new video link in private.

  • What do you see in Customizer > Typography ?

  • Hi David,

Added a new video link. The confusion for me is that when I change parameters, they don’t reflect on site in real-time and did before. So I make changes but the font remains the same. So the H1 headline on the home page (article) – want it to be the same size (and larger) to the actual H1 on the inside page (just don’t understand the field parameter definitions but again, it’s not reflecting changes in real time).

My H2’s (which setting) seem small. But worse, on mobile, they truncate into two lines where before, with Helvetica (I think), everything rendered to single line on mobile and H1 size on home page for article and actual H1 (in the article), is not the same size either. Hope I am making sense.

    V4 is the new video

  • Whilst you’re in the customizer, do you see the changes you make in the typography panel ?
